During Carnival time, the city becomes filled with musicians and magicians, acrobats and clowns and theatrical performances, exhibitions and concerts compete along the canals, piazzas and palaces of the city. The gondolas that ply the canals are a great way to see the attractions, since many of the most beautiful places are built along the canals.
