    Lake Weddings in Italy
Italy’s romantic Lake District  is known for its Renaissance palaces and its alpine peaks towering over  pristine lakes and picturesque  villages lying on the fringe of the snow-capped Alps in the north of Italy. Its  mild-climate shores are dotted with charming villages and towns, romantic  villages and palaces and interesting gardens, belvederes, spas and holiday  resorts. The romantic atmosphere of the lakes, the  grandeur of the mountains, the ancient rural history, the excellence of wine-making,  art and excellent cuisine make the Lake District in Italy a perfect place to  celebrate your Wedding in Italy!

May and  September are the two best months for weddings at the Italian Lake District:  the weather is lovely and the crowds are light.
The two most popular lakes are :

    Lake Maggiore
Lake Maggiore, the second  largest lake in Italy, and on its western coast is the town of Stresa. There  you can take a cable car ride up to Monte Mottarone, where a breathtaking  panoramic view of Monte Rosa and the surrounding mountains awaits you. The beautiful Borromean Islands are the highlight -  and the tiny Isola Bella is the jewel.

    Lake Como
Lake Como lies between Milan  and the border of Switzerland surrounded by mountains and hills.
The beautiful chic towns  of Bellagio, Varenna, Como, Mennagio, Lecco   and Cernobbio are on Lake Como. Lake Como, a popular destination since the ancient  Roman times, is a top romantic wedding destination and a great spot for your  wedding pictures.

From Cernobbio to Isola Comencina (Lake  Como's only island), the western shore has much to offer: hotels of different  categories (all of them comfortable, some of them world-famous), churches in  fantastic positions, century-old gardens and parks, ancient and modern  buildings. Walks in the mountains above the lake offer the chance of crossing  the border of Switzerland.

Steamers, ferryboats and buses serve all the main  towns on Lake Como.  Frequent ferryboat  services connects the central resorts of  Lenno, Tremezzo, Cadenabbia, Menaggio,  Bellagio and Varenna, including a car ferry. A less frequent but faster boat  travels the full length of the lake from the town of Como . Buses run  approximately hourly all the way up the west coast from Como round to Colico at  the north-east

While the top three runners-up  are :
    Lake Garda
It is situated well to the east of the other close to Verona and Venice and  many ferries  can swiftly take you from one village to the next. Lake Garda  is "the  land where the lemon trees flower" which fascinated Goethe. It is  famous for its Mediterranean climate, its blue waters, its abundant vegetation,  its attractive villas and gardens, the variety of the landscape and the  efficiency of the tourist services.

The beautiful lakeside towns around Lake Garda as  Malcesine, Torri del Beneco, Bardolino, Sirmione, Salò. Dsenzano  del Garda , Lazise., Peschiera, Garda, Torbole  have charmed foreign visitors for centuries.  Even  for the ancient Romans, the area was a luxury summer destination; in Sirmione  and Desenzano you can visit many ruins and mosaics of the Roman Empire.

    Lake Orta
Magic is the  atmosphere of Lake Orta. The medieval village of Orta is rich of splendid  ancient palaces, baroque churches and ancient towers. Just a short boat-ride  away is the Isola di San Giulio with its Romanesque basilica, the mystical  symbol of the entire lake.

Lake Iseo is the fourth largest lake in the Lombardy region of  Italy, situated just north of Brescia and Bergamo. It is not well known outside  Italy and, therefore, less touristy. Lake Iseo is full of fish which are served at  restaurants all around its shores. It's also a richly agricultural area, with  small vineyards, allotments and olive groves stuffed with abundance. The lake  scenery and the large island of Monte Isola are Iseo's prime attractions

Celebrate  your Special Day at the Italian Lake District  , you and your guests will remember your Wedding for many years!
