PAPERWORK REQUIREMENTS FOR DUTCH CITIZENS WISHING TO GET MARRIED IN ITALY

If you wish to get married in Italy by civil ceremony, you will need to obtain a Nulla Osta  which is a  document issued by the Dutch authorities that testify that there are no impediments for your marriage.

The Nulla Osta can be issued by the Consular Section of the Embassy of the Kingdom of The Netherlands in Rome or at the Consulate General Consulate of the Kingdom of The Netherlands in Milan.

The following documents must be presented by the Dutch citizen to obtain the Nulla Osta:

1. Photocopy of valid Dutch Passport

2. Birth Certificate   - (international - multilingual form)  in original or certified copy

3. Declaration of Civil Status to be obtained at your Town Hall of residency in Holland or  if living aboard, at the nearest Consulate of the Kingdom of The Netherlands

4. Divorce Decree if applicable

The above documents can be presented by our Wedding Coordinators who will also pick up the final Nullla Osta and file them at the Wedding Hall chosen for your marriage in Italy. The consular fee for the issue of your Nulla Osta amounts to Euro 30 (in 2011) and can be paid through our agency on your behalf. Once the Nulla Osta is issued, it is valid in Italy for six months.
